What I love about turtlenecks... {part II}

I love turtlenecks!  I know I have already blogged about that.  I have also mentioned that a personal style rule is no necklaces over turtlenecks.  I have always felt like my curves are enough of an accessory on top that a necklace is too much.  I feel that turtlenecks in general when they fit properly {tight but not indecent) show off enough of the female shape that a necklace on top of all of that is gauche.

I will still not {most likely unless I get this exact outfit} wear necklaces over turtles, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE this ensemble that I saw on weardrobe.com.

I would love to hear your thoughts on turtlenecks and necklaces together or any of my other style-rules for myself {no santa anything, no overalls or rompers, no disney clothes, no tube tops}.

What I love about turtlenecks...

DVF Eniola Turtleneck

I love turtlenecks!  I have always loved them.  I don't mean the rough cotton santa-print turtles that come out around holiday time.  I like a tight gorgeous turtleneck to pair with great trousers, my best jeans, or a glamorous skirt.   I love the all-in-one appeal of the turtle (or cowl neck because I love equally).  It is a top that can stand on its own with out embellishment or heaven forbid a necklace.*

* Amber's Rules for Amber include NO NECKLACES on a TURTLENECK.

I saw this gorgeous Diane von Furstenberg number on Net-a-Porter today and fell head-over-heels.   I especially am excited about the outfit that it is paired with on the same website (posted below).  It is everything real lady would like to wear in the fall.

It is still very warm in most U.S spots right now but soon it will be time to break out the turtlenecks.  I for one cannot wait!

What I Want Today...{September 12}

What I Want Today...{September 12}

This set is my overall most expensive- the dress alone is almost $3000.  This is purely a dream.  I try to post beautiful fashion regardless of cost if it is something that I love and that speaks to me.  I can always post cheap and chic finds from Aldo and Zara and even Forever 21.  There is nothing though that takes the place of the flutter in my heart when I first see an amazing gown likes this Roberto Cavalli.. nothing.

Platinum Touch for What I Want Today...

Platinum Touch

I have posted these luxe platinum pieces out of pure lust.  They are gorgeous and very special.  They are the perfect accessories to the dress I will post later in "What I Want Today... September 12".   I think platinum has such a rich patina and I cannot get enough of highly stylized pieces like the Jimmy Choo Sandals and sparkly clutch.

I can not tell you how happy I am with my blog re-design. Thank you so much Carolyn V for all of your hard work and creativity. I look forward to a great future with The Pink Frock and blogging about all the things I like to wear and my client projects.

As part of the fun of a new blog design I have a GIVEAWAY to announce. My good friend Lisa Stein of Little Luxuries by Lisa has some gorgeous jewelry. Stop by her page on Facebook  or send her a message through her website Lux by Lisa.

Tell her you saw the Giveway at The Pink Frock and you will be entered to win a bracelet like the Creekwalk by Twisted Silver.

Good Luck in the Giveway and Cheers to my new blog!

For the love...

There have been times in my life (pregnancy) when the only things that I wanted to buy were shoes. If you factor in that I have had four children that puts me at almost 40 months of my life that shoes (and perfume) were the easiest things to get to fit. Here is a sneek peek at my closet photos. This shoe wall is one of my favorites. I can remember where, when, and why I bought every pair of shoes in the wall. I am happy to help you find an inspiring moment in life to begin building a great wardrobe that reflects your happiest memories.
